Sunday assembly posture

CCMS-SEC-SOP-001 §6

Every person has a place, a sector, and a job. The culture is covert, not theatrical. Smile, present, unremarkable — ready to stop violence if it comes through the door.

  1. 1

Arrive early enough to walk the building, classrooms, lot, and restrooms before the first car.

  2. 2

Doors that will not be used are locked. Public entry is reduced to the minimum number of watched doors. Twelve open doors means you just volunteered for twelve door guards.

  3. 3

Radios on, callsigns confirmed, medical bags and AED locations verified, classroom doors set.

  4. 4

Two-minute huddle: assignments, known persons of concern, weather, expected guests, pastor's schedule.

  • Lot / Approach — first eyes. Long-gun interdiction happens here if it happens at all.
  • Primary Door / Foyer — greeter-security. Smile, scan, set the baseline.
  • Sanctuary Rear / Roam — eyes on the room during prayer and preaching. Do not sit on the front row looking tactical.
  • Pastor / Platform Overwatch — one person with a clear path to the pastor. Extract-to-cover, not a speech.
  • Children's / Classroom — one way in, one way out, two-adult rule. Preferred post near the children.
  • Team Leader / Comms — runs the net. Does not get married to a single door. Holds spare medical and the 911 liaison.
  • On-call Medic — reserved rear seat, known to every team member. Not the same person as the door greeter.
  • Keep at least one set of eyes on the approach whenever the building is occupied.

This field guide does not replace 911, a medical director, or licensed clinical judgment. It does not authorize anyone to practice beyond license and current training.
