Upset parent / custody fight

Children's check-in exists for this hour. A court order in a pocket is not a hallway arrest. You protect the child and you do not become a deputy.

    Children's workers hold the child. They do not release into a shouting match.

    Move the adults out of the classroom doorway. Two team members if you can. Same-sex presence if a private conversation is needed.

    If a certified court order is presented, the Safety Director or Team Leader reads it. You still call local law enforcement if there is any doubt, any threat, or any attempt to snatch.

    Document names, times, exact words. This report will be read later by people who were not there.

Do not

  • Do not let two families 'work it out' in the nursery.
  • Do not take a child off campus in a personal vehicle to 'keep them safe' unless the governing board has a written emergency policy and you are following it.
