Bomb threat / suspicious package

Call 911 now. Do not debate this.

Give location, problem, and send a runner to meet EMS at the watched entry.

    If it is a call: keep them talking, note exact words, background noise, caller ID. Do not transfer the call into the sanctuary sound system.

    If it is a package: do not touch, kick, or open. Isolate the area. Evacuate away from it, not past it.

  3. 3

    Radios and cell phones: follow local bomb-squad guidance. If you do not have it written, default to distance and a landline or a runner.

  4. 4

    Children's workers hold and account. Reunification is a named place, not a stampede to the bag.

Do not

  • Do not announce 'bomb' over the house speakers if a quieter, directed evacuation will move people without panic.
