CCMS-MED-SOP-001 §3.1

Every patient, every time, in under 60 seconds. Named tasks get done. This tree is the SOP, not a clinic.

  1. 1

Safety. If the scene is not yours, you do not become a second patient.

  2. 2

Response. Tap, shout, look at the face.

  3. 3

Airway. Open it. Blood, vomit, teeth, candy.

  4. 4

Breathing. Rate, effort, chest rise, wounds.

  5. 5

Circulation. Pulse, massive bleed, skin. Pressure or tourniquet now, not after the history.

  6. 6

Disability. Pupils, moving all four, glucose.

  7. 7

Expose selectively. You are not doing a trauma-bay strip in the sanctuary aisle.

  • Secondary: last known well, SAMPLE, vitals, meds from a family member or a bottle in the purse.
  • Point at people. You call 911. You get the bag and AED. You find the parent.

This field guide does not replace 911, a medical director, or licensed clinical judgment. It does not authorize anyone to practice beyond license and current training.
